Ongoing accumulation of trash and illegal burning has been observed behind 7918 W Mount Whitney Ave, Lanare, CA Details: Individuals believed to be squatters appear to be residing on the property, accumulating large amounts of debris, constructing makeshift structures, and burning trash on-site. This activity poses potential health and safety risks to nearby residents. The community has experienced similar issues in the past, and residents are concerned that the situation may escalate if not addressed promptly. They are requesting that the appropriate agencies investigate the site and take necessary action to prevent further hazards. *For this same propoerty a complaint was submitted to the Air District on 10/9/25 at around 8:26 p.m. regarding the illegal burning incident (C-2510-032). Since I was away from my computer, I called the SJVAPCD and spoke with Justin Downs (559-355-9352). He mentioned that he would be heading out to Lanare that evening and would call me back after checking the situation. I didn’t receive a follow-up call until the next morning (10/10/25 at 9:32 a.m.) from Inspector Alan (559-260-8916), who confirmed that they had found evidence of a fire and were moving forward with a Notice of Violation (NOV).
